Rana Obeid is a bilingual, qualified lawyer with more than 18 years of experience in private practice and in-house positions. In her current with Parsons, she manages legal, procurement, contract and compliance-related matters for the Middle East and North Africa region. Rana’s expertise lies in contract/legal, risk assessment, drafting, identifying and preparing claims, evaluating and resolving submitted claims, handling escalated claims through adjudication, arbitration or litigation. Rana possesses strong negotiation skills gained while interfacing with various levels of management, including government authorities, client organizations, and contractor/client relationships.
In the region, Rana has been heavily involved in the contracts management of various large-scale buildings, transportation, infrastructure, built environment, defense and oil, and gas projects from the contractor and engineering/consultancy standpoint. Rana’s expertise also includes advising on initiating and maintaining legal presence in the region and in other neighboring jurisdictions and analyzing, negotiating, commenting on, and drafting various documents related to major corporate transactions including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, disinvestments and disposals. In Lebanon, Rana represented clients in different courts (including courts of appeal and cassation) and before administrative agencies of the government and provided advice as to their legal rights and obligations.
