Cheryl has broad multi-sector experience having spent more than 20 years in the not-for-profit, retail, real estate, banking, investment, and aviation sectors. She has worked across several jurisdictions in UK, APAC, Middle East, Africa, Russia, Central Asia, and Levant, and has sound compliance knowledge of country labour laws and working conditions.
Cheryl is very experienced in leading people strategies for new market penetration, growth strategies, business turnaround, cultural change, technology implementations, and acquisitions.
Presently Cheryl is the Regional Head of People - UK, Middle East and South Asia for The Fred Hollows Foundation, a Top 50 Global International NGO, and is a lecturer at the PwC Academy Middle East.
Cheryl holds several Board and community leadership roles as Deputy Chair for the Australian Institute of Company Directors Advisory Committee Middle East; Co-Chair of SAP SuccessFactors MENA Special Interest Group; and Vice-Chair of the Executive Board of Directors at e7 Promise of a Generation. Cheryl sits on five judging panels for industry awards including CIPD Middle East People Awards; MEED Daman Corporate Wellness Awards; MEED SME Awards; Informa Future Workplace Awards; and Ta’atheer Social Impact Awards, and she is also a Mentor with the Cherie Blair Foundation.
Cheryl has completed the INSEAD executive education program Driving Value through Business Acumen; and she an MBA (Strategic HRM) and Bachelor of Adult Education from the University of New England, Australia. Her professional qualifications include Chartered Fellows through CIPD UK; Australian Human Resource Institute; and Institute of Management & Leaders.
Cheryl hails from Australia, is married and has one son. She has lived in the UAE since 2005 and is a passionate advocate for social impact, education, community, and diversity.
